Sydney, July 1, Taronga Zoo and Manly Beach Part 1 of 2

On Friday we all left the apartment by ninish to catch the ferry to the zoo across the harbor. It's a gorgeous zoo and we spent most of our time with the animals that we can't see at home. We loved seeing the kangaroos and koalas, the Tasmanian Devils and emus. The platypus was especially interesting. I have to admit that one of out favorite exhibits was the giraffe habitat that had a view of Sydney Harbor, including the opera house and bridge!

We had lunch at the zoo and eventually rode the ferry back to Circular Quay. Once there, we got on the ferry out to Manly Beach. We'd wanted to do the Manly to Spit Bridge walk but it was too late in the day to do it. It's pretty dark by 5:30 here this time of year! We did walk around Manly some before we caught the ferry back. It's a gorgeous area and I'd love to explore it more someday!

We headed back to our apartment and a few blocks before we got there, Joel and I peeled off to stop at the grocery store and the kids headed back together. Having big kids is the best. 😉

Pasta, salad, and shrimp for dinner. The kids watched Shark Tale together before we all turned in for the night.
