Final Day in Cinque Terre

Today, like many days during the past 2.5 weeks didn't go exactly as
planned.
We spent some time this morning at the park in town. The plan was to
ride the train down to Manarola, have lunch, ride the ferry back
(because riding the ferry was a super high priority on the kids'
lists), and then spend the sunny afternoon hours playing at the
beach. Sounds great, right?
Instead, we rode the train to Manarola, had lunch, missed the ferry by
10 minutes (next one being 3 hours later due to 'siesta'), spent
waaaay too much time waiting for trains back to Montorroso, finally
rode the ferry, took a detour inland to the big train station to get
help with our connections for tomorrow, came back, threw a couple of
stones in the ocean, and realized the weather was QUICKLY changing,
and then RAN home in time to pull our drying laundry inside before the
storm hit.
The kids were bummed about not getting to play in the sea again, but
the ferry ride was incredible and they loved watching the wake at the
back of the boat. Unfortunately C slept through the entire ride. We
also had a chance ro grab gelato and McDonalds, so all in all it was a
good day. Tonight we (mostly J) packed up. Tomorrow 3 kids, 3
suitcases, 2 carseats, 2 backpacks, 2 parents, and a stroller head to
Venice - pvia a 5+ hour train ride- woot!

Ciao!
